Q3 2021
We are pleased to share that on September 16th, 2021, Solvay announced the completion of its new 27,000 square-foot thermoplastic composites (TPC) manufacturing facility at its Greenville, SC site. The project (code name ‘NEMO’) was engineered in accordance with Solvay’s strict confidentiality requirements by PegasusTSI Inc. in Tampa, FL. PegasusTSI also provided construction management services to support the Solvay team in Greenville.
The project represents a major milestone in Solvay’s efforts to industrialize its TPC capacity. A key driver for the facility is growing demand from energy companies, supported by increasing aerospace and automotive demand. The revolutionary product will contribute to global energy transformation by making cars and planes lighter and fabricating piping used in the oil & gas industry, which is traditionally made of thick-walled steel, thereby reducing environmental emissions.
PegasusTSI worked in close collaboration with the Solvay team throughout the project. Karl Ibadulla, President of PegasusTSI, noted, “A high level of cooperation was demanded by Solvay during the engineering and design phase of the project, which continued into the field. We achieved seamless execution at a high pace of delivery to meet the demanding on-stream date. We are gratified to be part of this major business success for Solvay”. The project team recognized the success of the project by issuing a joint project banner for the project completion celebrations.
