PegasusTSI is providing Engineering, Procurement and overall Project Management services to Koch Mineral Services for the expansion of their existing urea manufacturing facility located at the Koch Nitrogen Plant in Enid, Oklahoma.  Beginning with the development of a ±10% estimate, the goal of the project is the debottlenecking and 40% increase in Urea production capacity from 1100 STD to 1550 STD.  The estimate phase of the project was followed by Detailed Design of the urea process, storage and handling facilities as well as the truck and rail transportation systems.  The expansion consisted primarily of the addition and replacement of process equipment and piping, requiring significant civil, structural and electrical engineering services.  In addition, PegasusTSI provided the Procurement of all equipment and long-lead special alloy bulk materials.

The detailed design package included the design of the modified urea production and handling facilities which included the incorporation of all process data provided by the Licensor, Urea Casale, in the preparation of the PFD’s, P&ID’s, data sheets, and equipment specifications for bidding and purchasing purposes. PegasusTSI also provided reviews and revisions of all Licensor specifications and data sheets, obtained vendor quotations for long lead equipment, bulk materials and in-line items, and provided a complete technical review, bid tabulations, equipment purchasing recommendations.  Upon vendor selection, PegasusTSI placed the purchase orders, processed all vendor documents, and developed the construction bid packages for use by Koch in obtaining construction bids.  To assist the construction effort and schedule, PegasusTSI provided bid packages for all special alloy long lead materials and equipment and carbon steel pipe fabrication separately.

With Detailed Engineering completed, PegasusTSI also provided construction management advisory services for the planning, scheduling, award of fabrication packages, demolition package and new equipment installations during the construction phase.  The project involved the modification of an existing operating facility, requiring a complete plant shutdown.
