The scope of the project involved various aspects, including the development of a Preliminary Engineering Package and a detailed ±10% Capital Cost Estimate. PegasusTSI provided comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction management services. The project included the installation of four new single-staged forced circulation phosphoric acid Evaporator systems, four new HFSA Recovery Systems, a new clarifier, a pond cooling water intake structure with two new pond water pumps, a pond cooling water return structure with two new pond water pumps, as well as new Pipe Racks and Electrical equipment. The installation also encompassed process and utility piping systems, including 75 tie-ins to existing systems. The technical challenge was to closely replicate the existing “Badger” design for the new Evaporators, which required expertise in design and engineering. The success factors of the project included adhering to the budget, effectively managing equipment vendors, providing fully detailed contract packages, and the satisfaction of a returning client.
